How to Get Dark Mode Back in the Facebook App

An outdated app is the most common reason you can't turn on dark mode for Facebook. Follow these steps to get it back:

  1. Close Facebook by swiping it off the screen.

  2. Update the app. This works similarly on both platforms: Android [Update Android Apps] and iOS [Update iPhone Apps].

  3. Open Facebook and tap the menu button (your profile picture).

  4. Go to Settings & privacy > Dark mode.

  5. Tap On to switch Facebook to dark mode.
