Design & Display

It just looks good how we see different innovative designs on Android phones every year – now you see a square-shaped camera module, another time it’s circular, rectangular, rhombus, the list goes on… And one thing that distinctly differentiates the Hot 10 from Note 7 is their design – their camera module, in contrast. The Infinix Note 7 showcases the first Infinix phone with a circular-shaped camera module, while the Infinix Hot 10 takes a rectangular-shaped camera module, as seen on Note 8 and the likes.

Unlike Infinix Hot 10 and Note 7 has the more “modern” and premium look with its side-mounted fingerprint sensor, which is relatively comfortable to use: just click the power button and you’ll be on the home screen straight! Infinix Hot 10, on the contrary, retains the rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. Both devices also come with Face Unlock, in addition to the security methods.

Phone screens are getting bigger, and the Infinix Note 7 sites a good example with its 6.95” HD+ display. The large screen gives you an immersive cinematic experience, but it would’ve been better if the Note 7 comes with a pen to utilize the large screen since it's called a “Note”. On the other hand, Infinix Hot 10 feature a similar look with a slight reduction to a 6.78” HD+ screen.

Software & Performance

With MediaTek’s Helio G70 processor, you definitely would get raw mid-range performance and play some games smoothly on both devices. Where the differences between these devices really show up is in the memory, with Infinix Note 7 taking the lead with its 6GB of ROM and 128GB of storage. Infinix Hot 10, on the flip side, slashed down the memory in half; you get 3GB of RAM and 64GB of storage instead.

Having up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, you can run multiple apps simultaneously on the Note 7 without the system shutting them down in the background frequently. Both devices also support storage expansion via microSD card, but the Infinix Note 7 takes the head here again, as you can expand it up to 2T, where the Hot 10 is only expandable up to 512GB.

Talking of the software, you get Android 10 and its special features on both devices. However, Hot 10 comes with the most recent XOS 7 skin, which brings a whole new look to the phone. Infinix also went the extra mile to make the software more comfortable to use with one hand; now on XOS 7, you can do most things on your phone without using both hands. You also get new features such as improved Social Turbo for WhatsApp Business, Image Compressor, Smart Scanner, improved Dialer app, Video Ringtone, YoParty 2.0 and more on the Infinix Hot 10 running XOS 7 based on Android 10.

Conversely, Infinix Note 7 runs on XOS 6 based on Android 10. While the difference between XOS 7 and XOS 6 is significant, you might not bother since the Note 7 has a better memory.

Battery & Charging

Both devices pack in a beefier battery capacity that’s enough to power you from morning coffee to bedtime. On paper, you get a large 5,000mAh battery on the Note 7, while the Hot 10 tops it with an extra 200mAh, making it a gigantic 5,200mAh battery. The extra 200mAh increment might just not count out for most people, but the significant differentiator between both devices lies in their charging speed; the Infinix Note 7 provides you with a faster charging speed with its 18W power output, while Hot 10 steps it down to 10W, again.

So, you either choose between going for an extra 200mAh battery on the Hot 10 or going with the Note 7 that tops up the battery faster.

Camera

The primary camera is where the major difference between the Note 7 and Hot 10 lies. The Infinix Note 7, being the more premium device here, opts for a 48MP primary camera, and coupled it with a 2MP macro camera, a 2MP depth sensor, and a Super Low-light video camera (only on the highest variant). Infinix Note 10 went for a 16MP primary camera, a 2MP macro camera, a 2MP depth sensor, and an AI lens instead. You get a quad-rear flash on both devices, and on the front, Note 7 comes with a 16MP selfie camera, while Hot 10 went for a lower 8MP selfie camera.

You get decent shots on both devices, though the 48MP sensor on the Infinix Note 7 gives you more details. And if you switch over to the 48MP mode, you get high-quality pictures you could print on a large scale.

The Infinix's Note series has always been ahead of the Hot series since inception, and it clearly shows on our Infinix Note 7 vs Hot 10. Although Infinix Hot 10 has greatly improved over its predecessor, it's still not up to what the Infinix Note 7 offers.

If money is not a problem, Infinix Note 7 is the better option here when it comes to performance, battery charging speed, camera, build, memory, and more. The Infinix Hot 10 is no slouch, however, especially when you consider its price tag.
