Product Description

A new updated smartphone from the South Korean giant of computing and communications.

Samsung Galaxy S10

  • 4K front camera and a triple main camera to the rear
  • Wireless PowerShare to recharge your friend's gadgets
  • No 5G connectivity available

Please Note: Samsung's 2020 flagships have hit the shelves -- the Galaxy S20, the S20 5G, the S20 Plus 5G and the S20 Ultra 5G. You may also want to pick up a pair of Samsung's new Buds Plus wireless earphones.

An Updated Smartphone from an Iconic Brand

The Samsung Galaxy S10 release marks the 10th anniversary for what has become the world's most iconic Android phone. Following competitor Apple's example, the Samsung Galaxy S10 will hit the shelves alongside a larger Plus model and, for the first time, a cheaper Galaxy S10 – the S10e. The standard sized S10 offers several upgrades over 2018's Galaxy S9. These include a larger display, a larger battery and wireless PowerShare. For those wondering: yes, the Samsung Galaxy S10 has a headphone jack.

Galaxy S10: Waterproof with Wireless PowerShare

Measuring 149.9 mm x 70.4mm x 7.8 mm and weighing 157 g, the Samsung Galaxy S10 is waterproof and dustproof. The phone's IP 68 rating indicates that it can withstand submersion in up to 1.5 m of water for 30 minutes.

Thanks to a new design, the phone now features a 6.1 inch Super AMOLED display with HDR10+ support, the same technology found in the brand's QLED TVs. Blue light has also been reduced to make the screen easier on the eyes. The Infinity-O display has a "punch hole" – a small circle in the upper corner – allowing the screen to stretch around the edges of the casing. Unlocking now takes places via in-display fingerprint sensor. It supports fast charging, wireless charging, and wireless PowerShare. This technology enables your Galaxy battery to charge your wireless buds or even a friend's compatible smartphone.

Triple Rear Camera

Photography is handled by a triple rear camera consisting of:

  • 12 MP main sensor with shifting f/1.5 -2.4 aperture and optical image stabilsation
  • 16 MP ultra wide angle with f/2.2 aperture
  • 12 MP telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture with optical image stabilisation

It includes all the features from the previous phone, including AR emoji and improvements to AI-assisted shooting. However, it lacks the dedicated night mode offered by other top camera phones, such as the Huawei P20 Pro and the Google Pixel 3 XL. The 10 MP front selfie camera with f/1.9 aperture features dual autofocus. Both cameras support 4K video capture.

Samsung Galaxy S10: Cheapest Price UK

The Samsung Galaxy S10 is available in the colours Prism Black, Prism Green and Prism White with a choice of 128 GB internal memory or 512 GB internal memory.

All versions of the phone support storage expansion of up to 512 GB via microSD card.

The Galaxy S10 128GB will launch at £799, while the Galaxy S10 512GB will set you back £999. This represents about £100 savings over the Galaxy S10 Plus. The advantages of the Plus phone include a larger 6.4 inch display, a bigger battery (4100 mAh), and a dual selfie camera as well as the options of extra RAM and up to 1 TB internal memory.

If you're looking for a cheap Galaxy S10, then Samsung is offering the Galaxy S10e with toned down specs for about £100 less than the standard phone. This "budget Galaxy" features a flat lower resolution display and a dual rear (rather than triple rear) camera.

Samsung Galaxy S10: Verdict & Competition

The Samsung Galaxy S10 will certainly be one of 2019's top Android phones, especially in terms of raw performance and display quality. The two biggest complaints thus far have been lack of a photography Night Mode and high pricing. For these reasons, the Huawei P20 Pro, the Google Pixel 3 XL, and last year's Galaxy S9 may dim some of Samsung's limelight.

Pros
  • Wireless PowerShare enabled
  • Headphone jack included
  • Up to 512 GB internal memory
  • Supports additional memory via micro SD card
Cons
  • Does not support 5G technology
  • Somewhat outdated model
  • No photography Night Mode
FAQs (3)
Is the Samsung Galaxy S10 protected from viruses and malware?

The phone scans apps for malware before downloading them from the Play Store. To prevent malware from ads and emails, you can take some precautions, such as restricting app permissions, setting up ad blocks, activating device protection and removing apps that are infected with malware in safe mode.

How much storage space does the Samsung Galaxy S10 offer?

The entry-level model offers 128 GB internal storage, of which 110 GB is free. It is also equipped with a dual-SIM hybrid card slot for a memory card in microSDHC, microSDXC or microSD format. This allows the storage space to be expanded by up to 512 GB. Alternatively, you can by the model with 512 GB of internal memory.

What is the difference between the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10e?

The Galaxy S10's 6.1-inch (15.49 cm) display is larger than the "e" variant's 5.8-inch (14.73 cm) Dynamic AMOLED screen. The ultrasonic fingerprint sensor in the S10 is in the display, but it is integrated in the power button in the "e" model. The battery also has more to offer with 3400 mAh versus 3100 mAh.

The camera of the phone is very good and takes crisp pictures. The battery also lasts approx. 8 hours. I also like the fact that the phone has a Usb-C port. The memory is also quite sufficient. What I don't like are the rounded corners of the screen and the glass, because it breaks quickly. You should definitely get a cover that protects the glass.
Advantages: Battery, Graphic, Memory, Screen, USB-C
    Disadvantages: Rounded screen

I like the design of the phone the most. What makes me a bit skeptical is unfortunately the slow user interface. Nevertheless, I would recommend the phone to anyone. The back is equipped with a particularly noble glass and the cameras are not arranged like on any other phone, which I also like very much.
Advantages: Extremely beautiful design, Very good camera, Special arrangement of the camera
Disadvantages: Poor video recording, Poor photo editing

Advantages: I have the device for a year and a half, it runs very stable has an excellent camera and also the performance is excellent, Camera, Reliability, Speed
Disadvantages: The battery does not last over the day with normal use, Battery power

This phone gets full stars from me. With a high memory capacity, it is of course super. The display is 1A the colours the contrast is very nice. The operation in the menu is very simple and fast. The camera is very strong and high resolution. The battery also lasts for a very long time.
    Advantages: Mega display and handling
Disadvantages: It could be a tick bigger :)

The Samsung s10 is a powerful flagship from Samsung that comes with decent power and a good camera. The screen also convinces with good, strong colours. However, there are competing products that can offer something similar for a smaller price.
    Advantages: Power, Camera, Screen
    Disadvantages: Price

I am currently using the phone and it is now almost 4 years old. I am thrilled that it still works well. Some problem is that the battery is a little broken but that is normal after so many years. I am glad that I decided to buy this phone. Clear buy recommendation for young and old, as it is easy to use.
Advantages: Good camera quality, Multiple camera functions
    Disadvantages: Battery slowly weak

This verified review is for: Samsung Galaxy S10
I have had the S10 for over two years and am very satisfied with it. It falls to the floor fairly often for me and still has an intact glass (though I use a protective case). The camera takes good pictures and offers solid automatic post-processing via Bixby. Several apps can easily run simultaneously without the S10 becoming noticeably slow. After two years (without fast charging and in battery protection mode with max. 85% charge), however, the battery weakens and does not even last a full day at 85% charge without charging in between. This is really disappointing, especially when you consider that this would most likely have happened much sooner without battery protection and with fast charging.
Advantages: Solid camera, Powerful flashlight/flashlight, Good sound quality/volume
    Disadvantages: Weakening battery

I find the cell phone Samsung Galaxy S10 good. It has a good battery life and charges quite quickly. The design is also good. However, the camera on the back is a bit too big in my opinion.
Advantages: Good sound, Good volume, Beautiful design, Good battery life, Charges quickly
Disadvantages: Camera on the back a bit too big

A very nice little phone. Very thin with long runtime . Lies well in the hand due to the small size and there are many accessories. Even though it's an older model, it's still currently usable.
    Advantages: Small
    Disadvantages: Slow

My Galaxy S10 has served me well for years, but the quality of the camera images is no longer optimal compared to the latest generation of phones (still good, but no longer at flagship level).
    Advantages: Quick, Reliable
Disadvantages: Camera meanwhile no longer outstanding
