Your Infinix phone-and many other electronic devices actually-is just like human beings. Man is swift and strong in the early years of their life but slows down as they age. The same can be said of phones. They get slow as you use them. When you keep using your phone, a lot of clutter and data pile up. This is basically what slows done the Infinix phone.

Think of it this way. Imagine being in a race, running at top speed, but you pick up a few weights periodically.  You will notice that the accumulation of those weights will prevent you from running fast enough. This is the same thing with phones, an overload of weights (clutter and data) will cause your phone to slow down.

So, what do you do when this happens? Let us see in this article, “How to speed up Infinix phones.”

How to Speed Up Infinix Phone

Free Up Space

As we have mentioned, the more you make use of your phone, the more it accumulates data and stores them. This will cause your Infinix internal storage to be full. When this happens, your phone practically starts working at a snail’s pace.  It will take more time to write and read data. Your phone starts lagging, and this can be quite frustrating.

The way to deal with this is to declutter. You can move your media to an SD card if you have one or a personal computer. You can delete those videos and pictures of you making goofy faces for your Facebook or Whatsapp stories. However, if you treasure them and can’t delete them, you can send them to Google drive.

Uninstall Unused Apps

Applications are the beauty of android phones. They add lots of spice to the phone. Some of them are not just for fun; some are quite handy in tackling daily needs. However, not all of our apps are useful to us every time. If you have no interest in games, why let that game eat up space? Please get rid of it.  Delete those apps that you downloaded but no longer use. You can also get rid of the applications that you use but not quite often.

Remove Home screen Widgets

Widgets on home screens function on their own. They do not need you to run them before they work. These home screen widgets are useful in telling us the time, the weather, and the temperature. They save you the data, stress, and time of going to check these stuff online.

But if there are just about many widgets on your home screen, they may cause your phone to run slowly due to excess data accumulation. To save space, remove home screen widgets that you do not need much.

Data Saver Mode

The primary thing that slows down your phone is the accumulation of data. And some applications, like social media apps, tend to store data even when you are not actively using the apps. So, you should turn on your data saver for these apps so that nothing is stored when you are not using the platform.

Another data and space-saving action you can take is disabling auto-downloads on your Whatsapp. This will give you control over what stores on your phone or not.

Clear App Cache

Your applications, mainly social media applications, store a massive amount of data in the cache. This may not be an issue at first, but it will overwhelm the phone and slow it down at some point. Clearing the app cache once in a while will prevent this. To remove the app cache, take the following steps:

  1. Go to settings and then click on storage.
  2. The phone shows you three segments: RAM, SD card (if there is any), and internal storage.
  3. Click on internal storage and then scroll down. Choose other apps (or apps).
  4. You will see a list of all the apps on your phone; the one occupying the largest chunk of disc space is on top of the list.
  5. Tap any application and then tap clear cache. Ensure that you do not tap on clear data but clear cache.

Update the System

Updating your phone’s system will make the phone work faster and more efficiently. To update your android’s operating system, go to settings, then go to system. Tap on system update and choose the type of update you want to do.

If you have an update stored on your Infinix device, click on local update and pick it from the SD card or phone memory. For online updates, click online update and wait for some time for it to be completed.

Restart Your Phone

Restarting your device is one of the magic options whenever you have any issue with your phone. Restart your phone if it is acting slow and watch the phone shut down unnecessary background apps, and then startup better.

Switch Off Animations

Another thing to do when trying to speed up Infinix phone is turning off animations of the apps on your phone. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Get to settings and click on about phone.
  2. Tap build number a few times until it is enabled.
  3. Go back to settings and tap on developer options.
  4. Find animator duration scale, transition animation scale, and window animation scale.
  5. Tap each of them and switch them off.

Turn Off Auto-Sync

Your calendar and contacts are in sync with Google. This synchronization was set up the moment you got your android running. To turn off auto-sync, do the following:

  1. Go to settings, then locate and tap on accounts.
  2. Tap on the Google account that is active on your phone.
  3. Tap account sync.
  4. You will see many apps synced to your Google account. Turn them off one after the other.

After following all these steps listed above, your Infinix phone will speed up.
