Blocking the sim card via customer care

You can always reach out to Airtel’s 24*7 customer care for blocking your sim. The customer care executives will assist you in blocking the sim in a few simple steps. All you need to do is reach out to customer care on the right number from the right network. Below details will help you understand the same.

If you have your sim with you and want to deactivate it, call on 198 or 121 from your airtel number.
Otherwise, if you don’t have your sim and are calling from another Airtel Number, call 9849098490.
If you don’t have your or another Airtel number and you are calling from some other network, call 1800-103-4444 or 18001034444 toll-free numbers.

You may be asked to verify your details on these calls like your registered address, most recently dialed number, ID proof, last recharge price, etc. Go ahead and verify the details. Once verified, you can ask the executive to block your sim card.

The call from an Airtel number will be chargeable at 50 paise per 3 minutes.

  • Blocking the sim from a nearby Airtel store
    If you are an individual who likes doing everything offline for security, you can go ahead with this way to block your sim. Locate the nearest Airtel store and meet an executive there. If you have the sim on you, provide your details like ID proof, date of birth, mother/father’s name, address proof, etc. Once the verification process is over, you will receive an OTP (One Time Password) on your registered sim.   • Blocking your sim onlineYou can also visit Airtel’s website or use the mobile app to get help via Airtel’s Live Chat support. You can get any query answered like sim deactivation or blocking. Another way to go about it is to drop a mail to Airtel at 121@in.airtel.com.

    If you have a corporate Airtel sim and you want to block it, you need to request your Corporate or Key account manager to contact the sim card network administrator. You will have to fill out a form for the same.
