MTN XtraSpecial Postpaid tariff plan does not attract a daily or monthly subscription or access fee.

A. Existing prepaid customers can migrate to Postpaid by simply dialing *409# and inputting their BVN to complete the migration process.

A. Yes. As an XtraSpecial postpaid customer, when attempting to buy select Data plans, you will get a prompt suggesting an XtraSpecial bundle instead of the Access Data bundle you are trying to buy.

 

Example:

If you want to buy an Access bundle of 6GB for N2,500 valid for 30days, you will get a prompt on your phone, suggesting that you purchase the N4,000 for 17GB valid for 30days.

 

Note: The XtraSpecial bundle that will be suggested to you will depend on the Access Data bundle you are trying to buy.

A. When you select the option to buy the XtraSpecial Data bundle instead of the Access Data bundle, the system will activate ONLY the XtraSpecial bundle on your line and the Access Data bundle will not be activated.

A. No. If you don’t want to buy the recommended data bundle, simply select your preferred bundle on the cross-selling menu to finalise your purchase, otherwise the suggested data plan will be activated.

A. The pop-up menu is a feature that allows you to set your data bundle on Auto-renew or One-off purchase, and to “Buy for a Friend”:

  • ‘Auto-renew Purchase’ means that your data bundle will auto-renew after expiry as long as you are having enough airtime on your line.
  • ‘One-off Purchase’ means that your data bundle will not renew after expiry.
  • ‘Buy for a Friend’ option allows you to buy a data bundle for another number on MTN with your airtime.

Note: The ‘Buy For a Friend’ option can only be used to buy data for a friend on Consumer Postpaid Data tariff plans.

A. The data bundle with the least validity will be used first.

Example: If you have a 30-day bundle plan and 60-day plan both active on your line, the 30-day plan will be used first before the 60 days plan.

A. As soon as you exhaust your data bundle before the expiry, your data access will be suspended, and you will not be able to browse again. To continue browsing, you will need to do one of the following:

  • USSD *312*1# or *904#.
  • myMTNApp
  • myMTN Web
  • Opt-in for Pay-As-You-Go browsing by dialling *312*200# to continue browsing with your airtime at N3.53/MB.

A. Yes, you will be able to enjoy 100%, and any other bonus offers you are eligible for on the network whenever you buy a data bundle. The offer includes.

  • 100% 4G Upgrade Bonus offer is select data bundles valid 1 – 3 months after 4G SIM upgrade.
  • Customers can also get 100% Device Bonus offer on select data plans on activation of new phone/device.

A. Yes, you will be able to roll over your unused data bundle ONLY if you buy another data plan in the same category with current bundle within the stipulated grace period. the validity of the new data bundle will be applied to rolled over bundle.

A. Yes, XtraSpecial Postpaid can transfer/share their special data plans with other customers on Consumer Postpaid plans via below channels:

  • SMS – Text Transfer<space>Phonenumber<space>Data amount to 312.

 

If I have multiple data bundle active from different categories, which bundle will auto-renew first? If I have multiple data bundle active from different categories, which bundle will auto-renew first?

A. All bundles will renew according to their bundle category – daily, weekly and monthly, etc. However, if you have multiple data bundles active from same category, the last data plan you purchased from that category will be the bundle that will be auto renewed.

 

For Example: if you activate two data plans from the daily plans; (40MB on June 1st, 200MB on June 2nd), two plans from the monthly plan; (1.5GB on June 3rd and 17GB on June 4th), on the day of renewal, only 200MB from the daily plan and 17GB from the monthly plan will be the plans that will auto-renew.

A. If you fail to renew your expired bundle or purchase another bundle from the same category after the rollover period, all your un-used bundles will be cleared. See Data Roll- Over table for details.

A. You will be able to browse from your airtime only after exhausting your data bundle, BUT you will be required to opt in by dialing *312*200# before you can browse from your airtime at Pay As You Go rate.

A. You will receive instant N2,000 onboarding credit limit upon activation of a new SIM or migration to postpaid. A revised credit limit is subsequently applied backend in line with customer’s request or current spend.

Note: onboarding credit limit expires at the end of billing cycle where backend review is not applied. Customer would receive invoice to settle usage from onboarding credit limit.

A. Your XtraSpecial postpaid bill due date is 5th of the new billing cycle. We will also send a text message reminding you of payment for your previous usage/bill between 1st – 5th of the month and before suspension.

VIP XtraSpecial epostpaid bill due date is 16th of the new billing cycle. We will also send text messages reminding you of payment for your previous usage/bill between 1st – 5th of the month and also before suspension.

What happens if I exhaust my credit limit within the billing cycle period and I am unable to pay between the 1st and 5th of the new month? What happens if I exhaust my credit limit within the billing cycle period and I am unable to pay between the 1st and 5th of the new month?

A. If you exhaust your credit limit and unable to pay between the 1st and 5th month of the new month, the system will suspend your line on the 6th day of the month till payment is received to clear the unsettled bill.
